Hidden Gems 1: A Killer Bookshop and a Great Burger

We live in an amazing city. It is so vast and dense that it would take a lifetime to explore it all. However, many do not take advantage of this city’s infinite opportunities and stay within their neighborhoods    This is a list of some of our favorite hidden gems from throughout the city. We hope that these places inspire you to leave your neighborhood and explore this crazy city we call home.

Mmueseumm

The Mmuseumm is mini museum in Cortlandt Alley in Lower Manhattan. Exhibits include a history of cell phones and tissues used by world leaders. 

Mysterious Bookshop

According to an employee, The Mysterious Bookshop is “the world oldest and first bookshop specializing in mysteries and crime fiction.” Located in TriBeca, it is a great place to find a scary and intriguing book to read. 

Burger Joint

Burger Joint, located behind a curtain in the lobby of the Le Parker Meridien Hotel on 56th street, is a definition of a hole in the wall eatery with amazing burgers and fries.

Brooklyn Art Library

The Brooklyn Art Library, located in Williamsburg, is a collection of sketchbooks used by artists from throughout the world.  

Will Landau is currently a Senior at The Packer Collegiate Institute and Web Editor for the Packer Prism this year. Will has been building the structure and managing the content of the Packer Prism website for over two years. He is very active in school musicals and plays, as well as the leader of Packer’s Model United Nations Club. Over the summer, Will worked at a local ice cream shop as a scooper.
